Sensei Williams Goings, Jr. is a 3rd Degree Black Belt at Jeff Bateman’s School of Karate.  He began taking classes at Jeff Bateman’s School of Karate in 1986 at the age of 6 and has been with Kyoshi for over 20 years.

Sensei William has competed in many tournaments throughout the years and has acquired over 200 medals and trophies. He is a 5-time AAU State Champion, 4-time AAU Regional Champion, and 3-time Commonwealth Games of Virginia Champion. He has competed in many tournaments throughout the United States including tournaments in Rochester, Minnesota; Cocoa Beach, Florida; Cincinnati, Ohio; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Baltimore, Maryland. In 2001, he traveled to Japan with Kyoshi and Sensei Yamashita, where he competed in a Ninja tournament.

He received his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1992 at the age of 12. In 1995, he received his 2nd Degree when he was 15. His 3rd Degree Black Belt was achieved when he was 21 in 2000. Sensei William believes the martial arts has made a huge difference in his life and has shaped him to be the person that he is today. He plans to continue taking Karate until he is unable to take it any longer. He is currently married and has a beautiful little girl.
